What is Provai?
Provai is a system that let's you connect sources with bots. These sources can be anything from a collection of markdown documents in a GitHub repository, to articles in your companys Confluence wiki. The bots are integrations to where you normally communicate within the company, be it by email or through Slack.
Once connected together, when asked a question, the bots will search through the semantic index based on the sources and look for information relevant to answering your query. The information is then loaded directly from the source into the conversational context of the bot.
This context is then sent on to the configured LLM provider. In the case of Provai Cloud, the provider is Mistral AI, an AI company operating in France, and thus subject to some of the worlds strictest data protection and privacy regulations and laws.
The AI chat bot will then use this information - and only this information - to answer your query, and provide you with links to all the sources it has used to deliver your answer.
None of the information is copied verbatim into Provais servers or databases - we simply don't need to. All the conversational history and contextual information remains on the servers of your Email provider, your Mattermost instance, or whichever communications provider you are already working with. It is only retained for the remainder of the conversation itself, and automatically purged once the conversation has not been active for 72 hours. We operate under the idea that the only information we should retain is the information absolutely necessary to deliver our service to you.
We stand commited to protecting your data and your privacy - and the simplest way to do that is not to retain it at all.
